The aim is to ensure <strong>environmental protection<\/strong> and <strong>improve wastewater management<\/strong> in an area with a strong tourist vocation. The project, designed by <strong>SEA Srl <\/strong>and <strong>Studio Galli<\/strong>, with <strong>On-Technology-Soteco<\/strong> as the executing consortium, involves the <strong>collection and transfer of wastewater to the new treatment plant in Lu Bagnu<\/strong>, a hamlet of Castelsardo (Sassari).<\/p>\n<p>Leading the project\u2014<strong>originally designed with stoneware and cast iron<\/strong>\u2014is the installation of <strong>more than 7,600 meters of FITT Bluforce PVC-A (PVC-HI) pipes<\/strong>, a targeted choice to enhance <strong>durability<\/strong>, <strong>efficiency<\/strong>, and <strong>sustainability<\/strong>, even in a challenging coastal context.<\/p>\n<p>This result is even more significant considering that <strong>the entire pipe supply was completed in just three months<\/strong>\u2014a noteworthy achievement for such a large infrastructure, allowing a faster timeline without compromising quality.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Technology serving the environment: why choose PVC-A (PVC-HI)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Initially planned with stoneware<\/strong> for gravity flow and <strong>cast iron<\/strong> for pressurized sections, the <strong>project <\/strong>was <strong>revised in favor of<\/strong> <strong>PVC-A (PVC-HI)<\/strong> for both sections\u2014during execution and bidding phases respectively\u2014upon the proposal of the awarded consortium On-Technology-Soteco. The choice of PVC-A (PVC-HI), already widely used by Abbanoa SpA*, was based on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Material durability<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Easier installation<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Greater resistance to corrosive agents<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>From coast to town: the flexibility of PVC-A (PVC-HI)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The adoption of <strong>FITT Bluforce PVC-A (PVC-HI)<\/strong> pipes led to improved <strong>technical performance<\/strong> and a <strong>simplification of installation operations<\/strong>. Within the town of Castelsardo, the <strong>lightness<\/strong> and <strong>manageability<\/strong> of the pipes reduced the impact on roads and residents.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>high flexibility<\/strong> <strong>of PVC-A (PVC-HI)<\/strong> allowed for <strong>optimal installation even in difficult conditions<\/strong>, such as narrow spaces and structural constraints. A clear example was the <strong>simple and fast installation of pipes<\/strong> along the winding road connecting the sea to the town center, <strong>with an extremely reduced need for bends and fittings.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In detail, the supply included <strong>7,626 meters of FITT Bluforce pipes<\/strong> with <strong>diameters ranging from 355 to 630 mm, PN 10 and PN 16<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, <strong>78 meters of FITT Bluforce RJ DN 400 PN16 pipes<\/strong>, with an exclusive <strong>restraint joint system<\/strong>, <strong>eliminated the need for bulky anchoring blocks<\/strong>, proving <strong>FITT pipes&#8217; perfect adaptability to complex urban settings like Castelsardo<\/strong>.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Hydraulic safety and durability in high-salinity environments<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The <strong>Bluforce system<\/strong> proved <strong>ideal for the corrosive coastal environment<\/strong>. The excellent <strong>anticorrosive properties of PVC-A (PVC-HI)<\/strong>, compared to traditional materials, ensure <strong>hydraulic safety and service continuity<\/strong> in high-salinity zones.<\/p>\n<p>These features &#8211; along with <strong>ductility<\/strong> and <strong>high impact resistance<\/strong> &#8211; make PVC-A (PVC-HI) a <strong>guarantee of long-lasting performance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>A Forward-Looking Project<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The new Castelsardo sewerage system represents <strong>more than a simple infrastructure upgrade<\/strong> &#8211; it is a <strong>strategic decision for the future of the community and its territory<\/strong>, aiming to <strong>protect the coastal environment<\/strong>, a vital resource for the local economy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FITT Bluforce<\/strong> pipes, combining <strong>high technical performance<\/strong> with <strong>environmental commitment<\/strong>, significantly contributed to the sustainability of the work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FITT Bluforce<\/strong> is <strong>the first PVC-A (PVC-HI) platform in Europe to obtain the EPD\u00ae (Environmental Product Declaration) certification<\/strong>, which provides certified life cycle data according to ISO 14025 and EN 15804:2012+A2:2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FITT Bluforce pipes also allow a 19% reduction in CO\u2082e emissions<\/strong> (raw material compared to ISO 1452-2:2009 compliant product), along with <strong>greater<\/strong> <strong>durability<\/strong>, <strong>easier handling on
