18 Jul New urbanisation works with FITT Bluforce for the industrial area of Cagliari
The industrial settlement of Macchiareddu, in the Municipality of Assemini (CA), is a constantly expanding area. To help the development of the district, CACIP the Industrial Consortium of the Province of Cagliari established in 1961 to support the industry of the region and now the second largest of its kind in Italy, has planned an executive project for the extension of the 5th road (sub-zone “D1 / Large industrial areas”).
The works, carried out by the company N.T.C. Costruzioni Generali Srl of Quartu Sant’Elena (CA), entail the construction of two new stretches of road, the first with a length of approximately 1,200.00 linear metres and the second of approximately 432.00 linear metres, with an average width of approximately 9.50 metres (including walkways).
PVC-A, a solution suitable for water and sewage networks
The construction of the new road section includes, in addition to the resurfacing of road signs and the provision of a telematic network, also the construction of a new drinking and industrial water supply network and a sewage network.
For the construction of the water and sewage networks, following the state of the art and the requirements of the special contract specifications, CACIP selected once again the FITT Bluforce PVC-A polymer alloy pipes. On this occasion (here the details of the previous site), the project will see the overall supply of approximately 2,800 linear metres of FITT Bluforce DN110/160 PN16 (water network) and 1,600 linear metres of FITT Bluforce DN315 PN10 (sewage).
Technology and environmental awareness
FITT Bluforce pipes were considered the ideal choice due to the quality of their materials and technologies and their sustainability, reliability and durability characteristics, necessary requirements for ensuring compliance with all the environmental and safety regulations.
The FITT Bluforce range come, in fact, with EPD® environmental certification in accordance with UNI EN ISO 14025. The certification is issued by an accredited third-party certification body following the provisions of the National Action Plan on Green Public Procurement (NAP GPP).
The type III environmental product declaration (EPD) is based on LCA analysis and follows specific protocols called PCR (Product Category Rules), which provide rules and requirements discussed and shared among the various stakeholders, to make sure that data relating to a given product category are comparable to each other.
PVC-A is also a completely inert and perfectly waterproof material and guarantees high resistance to corrosion and aggressive soil, fundamental requirements for guaranteeing the durability of the infrastructure in laying conditions that may be affected by pollutants in the subsoil.
FITT Bluforce, a consolidated choice
New urbanisation works reaffirm the confidence of the Sardinian consortium in the FITT Bluforce polymer alloy pipes, capable of guaranteeing state-of-the-art technology and a certified environmental impact (-19% CO2e emissions, raw material according to ISO 1452-2-2019).
