Consorzio di Bonifica della Capitanata at school with FITT

Last month the FITT team run a Masterclass at Consorzio di Bonifica della Capitanata of Foggia for the technicians of the engineering and the agricultural areas of the Consortium, responsible for the design, management and maintenance of the water feeding and distribution networks across the territory of the consortium.

Consorzio di Bonifica della Capitanata, the biggest consortium of central and southern Italy and among the biggest of the country, has a network of large diameter water feeding lines of 1,300 km, and an irrigation water distribution network of 8,000 km. It ensures irrigation equipment to 141,000 hectares across 35 districts, covering the agricultural territories of 39 municipalities in the Apulia region.

During the meeting, a great deal of attention was given to polymer alloy (PVC-A) and to compatibility with existing network systems made of different materials. It has been made a comparison between PVC-A and materials traditionally used in irrigating infrastructure, and then FITT’s solutions for managing and operating irrigation networks were presented and discussed with the technicians.
